Direct DivX Encoding and PVR & Tuner Under $100 I don't normally like these kinds of devices because I don't like having to be connected to the computer, but for those that don't mind, the Plextor PX-TV100U has some nice features for under $100.It records (via USB 2.0) directly to 640x480 DivX video, and includes Sage TV Lite with a free electronic program guide to control the recordings for you. If you've got everything close so this kind of setup works easily, it certainly seems better than recording in MPEG and converting it. I'm still waiting on a simple DVR to record out of the Firewire on my Motorola cable box though. Anyone?
